#Braves VP Bruce Manno Talks Advanced Metrics on “Inside the @MBraves Clubhouse”
Over the next two days, “Inside the M-Braves Clubhouse” will take a look at the ever-changing statistical side of the game of the baseball.
The discussion began on Monday’s pregame show when Atlanta Braves Vice President and Assistant General Manager Bruce Manno sat down with broadcaster Kyle Tait to discuss how the Braves use advanced baseball metrics in accordance with scouting to evaluate talent.
Manno has spent more than three decades in the game of baseball. Before joining the Braves, he spent three-plus years in the mid-1990s consulting for a company that took a very early, pre-“Moneyball” look at advanced metrics.
While today’s interview only scratched the surface of advanced statistical analysis, Tuesday’s pregame feature will take a more in-depth look at specific talent-evaluating statistics with Atlanta Assistant GM John Coppolella, who directs the Braves’ quantitative analysis and sabermetrics initiative.
